I participated in a Startup Weekend in Storrs during February of 2012. It was a great (and exhausting) experience. Grouping together with a handful of other passionate peers, we brought a project from concept to reality over the course of the 54-hour weekend.
As the designer of the team, I developed our brand and logo and worked on the wireframe and UX flows for the iOS app that we were building. Sobrio set out to solve a specific problem: sober driving on our college campus is an extremely painful experience. Cellphone numbers are posted to Facebook groups, drivers get incessant calls and end up jotting down ride info on a post-it on their steering wheel. Riders never know if their ride is nearby or even available, and they often resort to stumbling home. It's not pretty. We envisioned an app that could connect the two parties well, and Sobrio is what came out the other end.
You can check out the logo work here. The video below is from the final pitch. That's me giving the introduction and demo!
